Solutions for
Mechanical and Plant Engineering
Modern machinery and industrial plants place the highest demands on precision, dynamic performance and operational reliability. High rotational speeds, fluctuating loads, shaft misalignment and increasing requirements for system availability call for high-performance drive components that transmit torque reliably while protecting machinery against costly damage. Safety couplings (torque limiters) and shaft couplings make a decisive contribution to achieving these objectives.
ENEMAC safety safety couplings protect direct and indirect drive systems against overload and provide torque limitation up to 23,000 Nm. In the event of an overload, they mechanically disengage the driveline within milliseconds, preventing consequential damage to motors, gearboxes and tooling while minimizing unplanned downtime. Typical applications include machine tools, conveyor systems, packaging machinery, robotic systems, test rigs and special-purpose machinery.
ENEMAC metal bellows couplings provide absolutely backlash-free, torsionally rigid torque transmission. They reliably compensate for axial, radial and angular shaft misalignment, operate at speeds of up to 57,000 min⁻¹, and are designed for operating temperatures of up to 350 °C. Thanks to their low mass moment of inertia, they are particularly well suited for highly dynamic servo axes, positioning systems, metrology equipment and automation applications.
ENEMAC elastomer couplings combine precise torque transmission with effective vibration and shock damping. Their electrically insulating design protects bearings and drive components against stray electrical currents, minimizes resonance and extends the service life of the entire drive system. With operating speeds of up to 35,000 min⁻¹, they are the ideal solution for pumps, compressors, conveyor systems and a wide range of general mechanical engineering applications.
For high torque applications up to 65,000 Nm, ENEMAC disc couplings (multi-plate couplings) provide backlash-free, wear-free and maintenance-free torque transmission. Their high torsional rigidity makes them particularly suitable for high-performance drives, large positioning systems, rolling mills, test rigs, and process and production plants.
ENEMAC line shaft couplings bridge shaft distances of up to 6 m while ensuring precise torque transmission without the need for additional intermediate bearings. They simplify machine design, reduce installation effort and create greater flexibility for maintenance access and plant layout. This makes them particularly suitable for large machinery, conveyor systems, process plants and process engineering applications.
By selecting the optimum coupling solution, machine availability can be increased, maintenance costs reduced and the service life of machinery significantly extended. Safety couplings and shaft couplings therefore form an essential foundation for efficient, precise and cost-effective drive systems in modern mechanical and plant engineering.

Torque limiters for direct drives
0.3 - 23000 Nm
Torque limiters for direct drives protect against overload in the motor train and ensure precise torque transmission. They are used throughout plant, machine and test bench construction. While the variants with metal bellows mounting primarily compensate for axial, radial and angular misalignments, the torque limiters with elastomer mounting primarily have an electrically insulating and vibration-damping effect. Both types of coupling provide effective and purely mechanical protection against overloads and the resulting machine downtimes.

Torque limiters for indirect drives
0.3 - 23000 Nm
Torque limiters for indirect drives are indispensable components for torque transmission in the motor train of a wide range of industrial applications for attachment to output elements such as pulleys, sprockets or toothed pulleys. They are used, for example, in textile and packaging machines as well as in can, cup and beverage filling machines. They provide effective and purely mechanical protection against overloads and the resulting machine downtimes.

Metal bellows couplings
max. 57000 Nm
Metal bellows couplings compensate for axial, radial and angular shaft misalignment, are quick and easy to install and ensure reliable torque transmission at speeds of up to 95,000 rpm. They can be installed at operating temperatures of up to 350°C. Stainless steel versions are available for demanding applications.

Elastomer couplings
max. 35000 Nm
Elastomer couplings (claw couplings) are plug-in equalising couplings for backlash-free, angularly accurate transmission of torques in direct drives. The polyurethane insert, available in different Shore hardnesses, has a vibration-damping and electrically insulating effect.

Multi-plate couplings
max. 14500 1/min
Multi-plate couplings (disc couplings) are form-fitting shaft connections for the backlash-free transmission of torques of up to 65,000 Nm in direct drives. The high-strength disc packs made of stainless steel make it possible to compensate for axial, lateral and angular shaft misalignments. The double-cardanic design can also bridge shaft distances of up to 3 metres and can therefore be used as a distance coupling.

Distance couplings
10 - 1600 Nm
Distance couplings are shaft couplings for bridging large centre distances and compensating for shaft misalignment. Distances of up to 6 m can be bridged using variable-length intermediate tubes made of high-strength aluminium, which are adapted to customer requirements. ENEMAC spacer couplings can be used as backlash-free connecting, cardan or synchronising shafts at temperatures of up to 300 °C and cover a torque range of 10 Nm - 1,600 Nm.
